Q: Where are you based?

A: We are based in West London, but our classes are held at various locations. For directions and further details please see Where We Are

Q; What is 'Street Dance'?

A: Street Dance is a broad term to describe dance styles that originated outside of dance studios (on the streets and in places such as nightclubs) in America in the 1970's. This includes break-dancing, locking and popping, house, hip hop nu style and funk. Street dance is based on a unique style or feeling that is expressed through the movement and so each dancer adopts a personal style of their own.

A: Each class begins with a warm-up and ends with a cool down. This is important as it helps your body prepare and recover from the exertion of the class. A routine is taught and practiced during the main part of the class and each participant is usually asked to work on something while they are dancing that will help improve their skills.

A: Trainers, jogging bottoms, tracksuit bottoms and t-shirts or vests are encouraged for all classes, although Yoga is undertaken in bare feet. The main thing is that you feel comfortable and are able to move in and out of stretches easily. In accordance with our venue, we ask that you wear dance trainers (indoor trainers) for our classes. Jeans, outdoor trainers and heels are not permitted.

A: A mixture of pop, hip hop/r'n'b and funky house music. Occasionally we use acoustic soul, funk, soft rock, world and alternative.

A: At the end of each course is a 'Performance Week' which will give you the chance be apart of a peice of group choreography that you've been practising or brand new. Participants who undertake our classes over at least a 24 week period will have the opportunity to audition for our performance group, which offers performance opportunities, mentoring and extra training. It is likely that your tutor will recommend that you audition but for further information, please email us.

Q: Why don't you provide classes for children under 11?

A: Currently there is a good provision of movement classes for children up to the age of 11 so we are looking to provide opportunities for older groups.

Q: Is booking a course the only way to pay for the classes?

A: On the 6 and 12 week courses you are getting an extra class (or two classes) free, therefore this payment option is the usually cheapest and most affordable even though the total cost is paid at once.

You do have the option of paying for drop-in classes at £6 each class, but this is more expensive and it is unlikely you will improve without consistent attendance.

Also we are likely to get filled very quickly so paying for a course ensures that committed dancers are guaranteed their place. Unfortunately we are unable to allow participants to join in as a drop-in if the class is full.

Q: Will my dancing improve?

Q: When do the classes run?

A: Please check our timetable for up-to-date details.

Q: What about 16 and 17 year olds?

A: 16 and 17 year olds have the option of joining either the 11 - 15s class or the adult class depending on their level.
